About this deal

The included Grogu - the Child LEGO figure affectionately known as Baby Yoda, adds an emotional touch to solo or creative play with friends Removing the helmet reveals more printed detail on the torso and head. The head print has a red visor to give the helmet its red eyes, but it could double for other sci-fi themes. Thankfully, there aren’t too many strange colors that stand out, which is often a problem that plagues large LEGO Star Wars ships. The only ones that look a bit out of place are the blue Technic pins on the side walls. The minifigure selection in this set is good, with some standouts like Fennec Shand and the Dark Trooper, but I feel like a set of this size needed one more figure. Personally, I would’ve liked a live-action version of Bo-Katan, or even just another Dark Trooper. For what it is as a vehicle, it doesn’t open too many areas for play on the exterior, but the designers have still worked in a couple of fun ways to interact with the model – including the storage hangar for the TIE Fighters towards the rear of the ship, and a launch mechanism built into the front so as to send them out into space. Somewhat unfortunately, you have to have the panels of the ship open so as to activate that feature.

That’s really the only compromise to an exterior design that has also intelligently built the support handle to carry the whole thing around into the bridge of the ship. Weighted slightly towards the front end, though, and not the lightest of LEGO Star Wars ships, it may activate some new muscles in an average AFOL’s arm, and require two hands for younger builders to carry around. And so it is complete. Overall I appreciate the look of the craft. The silhouette fits nicely, and the underlying technic elements in the conning tower provide a sturdy handle, improving the overall swooshability of the model. The tiny TIE fighters are gorgeous. One can be placed in the opening at the front, and pushed forwad. Unfortunately, this mechanism is only functional when the cabin lid is open. Keepability: 4/5 – this set is worth keeping, especially for fans of the Mandalorian or Star Wars ships in general. It certainly looks good on display. There aren’t too many other details but I suppose that was necessary to prevent the limited space from becoming overcrowded. As such, there is a fair bit of space to pose minifigures and act out scenes from the show. Imperial Light Cruiser is basically ripped off the screen, featuring Moff Gideon’s command ship and a star-studded cast of minifigures. Let’s take a closer look!In The Mandalorian it casts a menacing shape in the sky and in space, with intimidating size and power when coming up against Mando, Boba Fett and the others. For its use in Rebels too, it’s a now-familiar ship and a more than welcome addition to the LEGO Star Wars collection. Taking the same sort of piece count as has been afforded to larger Star Destroyer sets of the past also gives the design team more options in capturing the finer points of what is, by scale, a much smaller ship than those. And on both what’s on the outside and the inside, 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser delivers. The unique, striking shape of the cruiser is perfectly captured in proportions and detail around the exterior, thanks to a slight Technic-frame construct on the inside. The all-grey colour scheme works against highlighting the subtle angles that have been recreated in the model, but it all still comes together effectively at the end as the reason why your eye so easily accepts the authentic nature of what’s in front of you. I set out to arrange all of my minifigures together from the August Releases: The Duel on Mandalore, Imperial Armourder Marauder, Boba Fett’s Star Ship, the Mandalorian Starfighter, The Bad Batch shuttle, the Imperial Light Cruiser and the UCS Republic Gunship. I am missing the 2 figures from the 75296 Darth Vader Meditation Chamber. Includes 5 LEGO Star Wars minifigures: The Mandalorian, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, Moff Gideon and a new-for-August-2021 Dark Trooper

There are some relatively new elements here, including the 3×3 curved quarter circle arch, whichmakes fro the front portion of the engines. The two outer engines are made using curved 8×4 simicircular panels. Panels are sloped over the rear of the ship, including the central engine. Transparent light blue radar dishes are attached to simulate the main engine jets. There is a little deviation from the source material here: there are 4 smaller engines between each of the main thrusters on screen. Not even including a hint of them feels a little thoughtless, but, on the other hand, gives you the opportunity to improve on the model with your own modifications. Bag 7 The front of the ship seems to be yet another area where the designers tried to make the best of a limited space. This is supposed to be the front hangar of the ship, and you can take one of the TIEs from the rear hangars and place them here.Given the low height of the rear section I suppose this was the best use of space that the designers could come up with.
