The initial two albums had established a distinctive sound that permeated every track, characterised by opulent orchestral arrangements complementing the live band’s presence. On side-A of the original vinyl release label, however, she is depicted as a graceful white swan, abstract concepts that were also featured in the music videos for ‘Delius’ and ‘Babooshka’. The 80 Greatest Albums of 1980 What came out of all this was, arguably, the greatest year for great albums ever". I have to admit, I'm totally biased towards Kate Bush, having every album she's produced on Vinyl, CD and MP3.

I love this remaster so much that it makes me sad that I’ve never listen to a vintage copy of this album. My Granny was rather deaf, and so the only lyric she was able to pick up on was Kate singing the 'Out' from the lyrics: 'In - Out', but being deaf, inevitably sounded very much like a pointless 'Ouch' or needless shrieking/squealing to my Grandmother.According to Bush, the title alluded to such conflicting emotions, including positive and negative binaries, stating, “We must tell our hearts that it is ‘never for ever’, and be happy that it’s like that”. Beyond the front cover illustration, the back continues its thematic thread, featuring Kate Bush in flight alongside ominous black vampire bats.

Never for Ever, however, diverges considerably in stylistic diversity, ranging from the direct and energetic ‘Violin’ to the nostalgic waltz of the chart-topping single ‘Army Dreamers’. Packaging could've been a bit better, but overall this is a worthwhile reissue to add to your collection! Incluye los éxitos "Breathing", "Army Dreamers" y "Babooshka", esté último siendo uno de sus más grandes éxitos.Bush created a marriage of groundbreaking, up-to-the-minute technology with little-used acoustic instruments. Babooshka-a song that got me interested in this singer, the style is unique while also extremely thought provoking with it's unusual lyrics even with todays music it is strong and as exceptional as when i first heard it, a classic in many different ways as it shows kate's interest in literature and human nature taken to new heights.

Bush's dramatics and theatrical approach to singing begin to solidify on Never for Ever, and her style brandishes avid seriousness without sounding flighty or absurd. As Bush explained herself, the image represents “an intricate journey of our emotions: inside gets outside, as we flood people and things with our desires and problems. Blow Away (for Bill)" commemorates her lighting director Bill Duffield, killed in an accident at Poole Arts Centre during her 1979 tour. Over the following week, Bush undertook a record signing tour of the UK including London, which resulted in lengthy queues down Oxford Street. That Kate Bush rolling around like a squealing 'ninny' like this (Granny imitating her movements from within the sphere) in a great big ball'! Delius (Song of Summer)" was inspired by the 1968 Ken Russell television film Song of Summer, which portrays the last six years of the life of English composer Frederick Delius, when Eric Fenby acted as his amanuensis. As with The Dreaming remaster (the only other I've bought so far) she seems to have avoided the usual remaster path of turning all the sliders up to the max and got Guthrie and Plante to smooth off the rough edges.

Lanzado en septiembre de 1980, fue el primero de la artista en lograr el número uno en las listas de popularidad, así como también fue el primero en general por una solista británica en encabezar el UK album chart y debutar en la primera posición. While an artist may assert their psychedelic inclinations through their music, there’s something uniquely resonant in the use of vivid hues and retro-futuristic visuals, coupled with imagery that frequently hints at multifaceted dimensions. Bush cited his ability to capture reality in a fantastical yet profoundly beautiful and elemental manner and found his depictions hauntingly evocative. This means that there isn't an immediate (ahem) 'Wow' factor, but the rewards become evident on repeated plays. Bush was pleased with the results (it depicts a multitude of animals and monsters emerging from under her skirt). In 2020, Rolling Stone included Never for Ever in their "80 Greatest albums of 1980" list, praising Bush for her songwriting and her imagination. The project serves as the quintessential example of using music as a conduit for fantastical storytelling, illustrating the conflicting forces of good and evil that manifest within us and how these entities present themselves to the external world.
