I have also grown to be a great fan of the magnum, which ages in a grand fashion developing great winey qualities and Burgundian notions. Fine Wine Direct Ltd offers a fantastic range of carefully selected red wine, white wine, rosé, champagne, sparkling and spirits delivered safely to your door. An innovator in Champagne, Laurent-Perrier was the first House to offer the successive breakthrough Cuvées of Grand Siècle, Cuvée Rosé, Ultra Brut and Alexandra Rosé Millesimé . Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by André Michel but it was his cellar master Eugene Laurent, who ran it with his wife, Mathilde Emilie Perrier. One of Champagne's most important figures in the 20th century, he officially took over in 1948 after a three-year apprenticeship at the Houses of Delamotte and Lanson.

La Cuvée is Laurent-Perrier’s signature champagne, defining the House style with its characteristic lightness, freshness and elegance.Established in 1812, this prestigious Champagne House has become synonymous with exceptional quality, sophistication, and a commitment to crafting some of the world's finest sparkling wines. This wine comes from the purest grape juice and it alone allows Laurent‑Perrier to craft “La Cuvée”, a champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process in our cellars. Although originally founded in 1812, the name Champagne Laurent-Perrier was not conceived until 1964. Revel in the beauty of its 16th century-style bottle, serve at 8-10°C as an exquisite aperitif and pair with charcuterie, poultry or red fruit desserts.

This Champagne is famous for a highly expressive bouquet that stems from the very careful preservation of the grape's naturally fresh red fruit aromas. Made from grape juice from the finest part of the pressing, la cuvee defines the light House style and serves as an ideal introduction to their wines with its characteristic lightness, freshness and elegance. With this long time post disgorgement the champagne style really changes the colour goes quite copper orange, the fruits go that spectrum of dried fruits like plum, orange and raspberry with a soft creamy texture. A rare Rosé Champagne made using the maceration (skin contact) technique, perfectly controlled by the winery, to give that extraordinary depth and freshness - a worldwide benchmark for its style. The maceration, lasting from 48-72 hours depending on the harvest, helps the extraction of the colour and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir. It's not going to keep quiet as you enjoy your Valentine's dinner but may do a certain amount of interrupting.
