Description

You’re left starting this book thrust straight into action with Ben Harper saving a masked man from a burning building but this would open up a can of worms when a body is found cast into the foundation of a derelict building.

Robert now lives in Putney and his new hometown served as the inspiration for the fictional town of Haddley in his thrillers. The plot moves along at a swift pace and does require a smidge more concentration than other books in the same genre.C’è talento, una trama imprevedibile, mistero, adrenalina, personaggi equilibrati e intelligenti, ritmo serrato e un numero imprecisato di colpi di scena. I spent a lot of my childhood days walking along the Thames towpath from Isleworth into Richmond and am familiar with a lot of the places mentioned – although no doubt they have long since changed from how I remember them. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Short, snappy chapters, a plethora of flawed characters, a cosy village setting and a tightly woven backstory made for a fantastic read.

Freshly promoted to Detective Constable, Dani Cash, now working with Haddley Police Station CID, has been assigned to attend (and investigate) an incident of a fire at St Stephen's church. Pamela fin da subito mi ha incuriosita perché era molto ambigua non voleva essere al centro dell’attenzione e nascondeva qualcosa. As he goes past he sees there is a fire in the disused community centre and then someone in the building! I loved Ben and Dani's friendship, although I'm hoping that at some point it will turn into something more. Come per il libro precedente, mi è piaciuto che anche qui siamo nel territorio del thriller psicologico, dove ogni personaggio ha segreti, rancori, nemici e amici.

This ended on a cliffhanger and ended quite abruptly so it’s definitely open to a third book in the series and I can not wait to continue this series!

A book designed to be read in one sitting because it is so easy to read and full of characters have you questioning motives and wanting the truth to be exposed. Gold has weaved a very complex family backstory for Dani and the further into the story you go, the more is explored and some of the revelations are a definite eye-opener. I’m sure Eleven Liars can be read without any knowledge of the first book but they’re both great reads so why not treat yourself and start at the very beginning. Whilst helping Dani to look into the case, Ben discovers some long buried secrets which a number of local Haddley residents have reason to hope will never see the light of day. A short time earlier - Ben Harper, taking a shortcut through the local cemetery, stumbles upon the fire and sees someone trapped inside.

We also get a good hard look at Dani’s marriage to DS Mat Moore which, since the first book, has felt a simmering recipe for disaster. The plot and the way the book is laid out is easy to follow, broken down in days so it’s easier to get an understanding of time frame. As always the story is expertly crafted to start off as something very simple a fire in a community centre a variety of characters stories are interwoven into the main story to give it depth and give uou a good hook in.

Alcune cose me le aspettavo, altre decisamente no, ma in entrambi i casi Gold è stato bravo a incastrarmi nella sua narrazione. Not so good points: I'm afraid I found that the plot just didn't grip me after the first bout of initial excitement at the beginning. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.A satisfying crime thriller that sucks you into the vortex of a close-knit community jolted by lies and violence ― lovereading. Last year I loved Twelve Secrets and was excited to read more from this author and about these characters. I thank Robert Gold for bringing my younger days back to me and giving me such pleasure and enjoyment in his extremely talented story telling. Journalist Ben Harper is on his way home when a fire 🔥 breaks out in the church yard, the community centre is a blaze with Ben’s help the person escapes before they can be identified.
